Deadly biker hit and run: cops searching for pickup driver

NEW ORLEANS, La. (BIKER DAD) –Cops in New Orleans want a pickup driver in deadly biker hit and run. A red Dodge pickup hit the biker head-on Friday. Then the driver took off. Police gathered evidence from the scene. As a result they were able to figure out what kind of truck it was.
Police say the truck would have extensive front end damage. NOPD says the front grill will be missing from the truck too.
The crash happened on June 4th on Hayne Boulevard near Unity Street. A good samaritan flagged an officer down. Then that person told police about the crash. But it was too late for the biker. The motorcyclist died on the scene.

The NOPD is investigating a fatal hit-and-run vehicle crash that occurred this evening (June 4, 2021) near the intersection of Hayne Boulevard and Unity Drive.
At about 10:00 p.m. an NOPD officer driving in the area was flagged down by a citizen and informed of a fatal vehicle crash. Upon arrival, the officer discovered an unresponsive male lying in the roadway near a heavily damaged motorcycle. The subject was declared deceased at the scene.
Based on evidence at the scene, detectives determined that the victim was operating the motorcycle when a hit-and-run crash occurred with another unknown vehicle which fled the scene.
No additional information is currently available. Detectives are working to identify and locate any other subjects involved in this incident.
