81st Sturgis Motorcycle Rally: Cops ask drivers to look out for motorcycles
STURGIS, S.D. (BIKER DAD)– The 81st Sturgis Motorcycle rally is about to kick off. And police in the area are asking drivers to watch out for motorcycles.
The South Dakota Department of Public Safety posted on Facebook saying, “the population of South Dakota increases by about 50 percent every August during the motorcycle rally in Sturgis. Plan accordingly.” The 81st Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will bring hundreds of thousands of bikers to town and to the roads all over the state.
The 2021 Sturgis Rally starts this Friday,” the post also reads. That means you’ll be seeing a lot of motorcycles on the road. Stay alert and give them plenty of room. There’s enough road for everybody.”
The rally hasn’t officially started. But there has already been a deadly crash in the area involving three motorcycles.
