Chopper the biker dog, owner surprised with massive mural to thank them for their service
IMPERIAL, Cal. (BIKER DAD)–Chopper the biker dog, and his owner were owner surprised with a massive mural to thank them for their service. Esmeralda Robles wanted to surprise them with the mural and spent two weeks secretly painting it. Chopper and owner Mark Shaffer have been comforting veterans and others in Southern California hospitals. So, she wanted to thank them for their service.
Chopper posted about it on Facebook:
“So today this happened…. It’s the weekend my dad spends 3 days shopping, chopping, cooking and preparing my home-cooked food for the next couple weeks, but he wanted to take a break and take me for a little ride on his Harley, since the weather cooled down a bit, and go relax having a beer. So a last-minute decision was made that we were going to head down to Mike Hess Brewing Company – Imperial Beach (where my mural is painted) and go have a beer. We called Esmeralda Robles to invite her to join us. She is the artist who painted the mural. Then, I take a look over towards the wall where my mural is painted and see this couple taking pictures of it. She even had a Boston Terrier shirt on. My dad went over to them and introduced himself. Lo and behold, we found out, they are long-time fans of mine, going back at least 10 years now, and had come down to see the mural and take a photo of it!!! And they were excited to see that I was there today!!! So, of course, I wanted to take some photos with my fans, as did they….. BUT LOOK CLOSELY!! She is actually wearing one of my #ChopperStrong / #ChopperLove wrist bands! That was so awesome!!!!
It was a pleasure seeing you today Carolyn and Bob! Thank you for your continuous support for all these years, and taking the time for these photos. So much appreciated!
