BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (BIKER DAD) — Protestors demanding justice for a 13-year-old killed while running from police on an illegal dirt bike demanded justice while doing the same. We showed the video earlier of 13-year-old Stanley Davis Jr. at a gas station in Boynton Beach. He pulled up to a filling station, bought gas. When he took off, police tried to stop him. Moments later, he was dead.
Preliminary reports show he hit a median and crashed. The town’s mayor immediately came out and blamed police before the investigation was even really started.

Meantime, this weekend hundreds of people shut down a highway in the area, demanding justice for “SJ” as he was called. Police warned them against using illegal dirt bikes in their protests. But they did it anyway. You can see the video in the player above. Or subscribe to the Biker Dad YouTube Channel.
None of the reporting on the crash has addressed the illegal dirt bike problem plaguing south Florida and other parts of the country. The reporters from this weekend’s protest didn’t even manage to point out that the protestors were also swarming the streets on illegal motorcycles.
According to reports “SJ” had just gotten the dirt bike for Christmas.
“We want to see the body camera footage,” Mary Barber-Nelson, Davis’ godmother, told The Palm Beach Post. “We need justice and change from the top down in the police department.”
The city said it had not equipped the police car involved in the crash with a dashboard camera. Police have not said whether the officer was wearing a body camera and whether it was activated.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (BIKER DAD) –Video of a teen killed in an illegal dirt bike chase is just surfacing, but he mayor of the town where it happened is already blaming the cops. You can see the video in the player above or subscribe to the Biker Dad YouTube Channel.
According to the local TV station, Mayor Steven B. Grant went to the scene on Sunday and spoke with community members who were both sad and angry about the boy’s death.“My statement to them was we should not blame the police department for the actions of an individual officer; however, the city and police are responsible,” Grant said Monday in an interview with WPEC.
Not sure how that jives. But the preliminary investigation by the highway patrol says the teen hit the curb and lost control while speeding away from the cops. South Florida has had a huge problem with illegal dirt bike riders causing chaos on the streets. But 13-year-old Stanley Davis Jr.’s family says he never caused trouble but was just on his way home. None of the reports address the fact that he was riding illegally on the street in the first place. Police say he was riding recklessly. The community disputes that. Look at the video for yourself. But how his riding ended will likely play into whether investigators believe his actions were reckless.
