Dramatic video captured the shocking moment when a pickup truck involved in a violent crash along the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu flipped on top of an innocent biker.Stephen Levey, a 55-year-old Beverly Hills resident, said he was riding his motorcycle on Nov. 14 when he approached a red light. Stephen gave Biker Dad permission to share the video, not just for its shock value but for the safety warning that could save other bikers’ lives. You can see it in the video player above.

According to local TV reports a driver in a stolen SUV careened thought the intersection. It was a t-intersection with nowhere to go but into other vehicles or straight into a large solid berm. The SUV hit both. A pickup truck caught up on the mayhem flew head-on into Levy as he sat at the stoplight. He had his iPhone mounted to his gear recording the entire thing. It’s horrifyingly real, but looks like something out of a first-person video game.
“I’m in a lot of pain,” he said. “I asked many of the doctors when I could expect, based on their experience, to start feeling a little better, and the answer is everybody is different. Unfortunately for me, I do not have a good tolerance for medication so I’m not taking anything for the pain.”
Levy has a long, painful and expensive road to recovery. You can help by donating to his Go Fund Me.
The most important part of this to Levy, besides his recovery, is warning other bikers to keep their head on a swivel. Often stoplights are where we check our gear, our phones, maybe adjust the stereo. But what we should really be checking is our mirrors and our surroundings. This is not to say Levy was distracted. The video shows just the opposite. But you never know what’s going to happen on the road. Please be safe out there. Help Levy if you can. If nothing else, prayers are free.
