BAD BIKER DAD: Father Sought After Fleeing Motorcycle Crash, Leaving Injured 2-Year-Old Behind

A Michigan father is being sought by police after allegedly fleeing the scene of a motorcycle crash that left his injured 2-year-old daughter behind.

According to the Detroit Police Department, the crash happened around 8 p.m. Sunday on Detroit’s west side near Braile Street and Evergreen Road. Investigators say the man was riding a motorcycle with the young girl as a passenger when he lost control and crashed.

Instead of staying to help, police say the rider ran from the scene, leaving both the motorcycle and the child behind. First responders transported the toddler to a local hospital, where she was listed in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Authorities have identified the father but have not released his name publicly. They are urging him to turn himself in at any Detroit police precinct so investigators can determine exactly what happened.

“It’s very shocking. It’s very alarming to know that a 2-year-old was on a motorcycle,” Detroit Police Public Information Officer Jalon Nelson told local media. Police also said they are investigating whether negligence played a role in the incident.

The case is being investigated by the Detroit Police Child Abuse Unit along with Child Protective Services. No charges have been announced at this time, and investigators say the circumstances leading up to the crash remain under review.
