Ride4Alz raised over $200K in the fight against Alzheimer’s
SAN DIEGO, Cal. (BIKER DAD)— The Ride4Alz raised over $200K in the fight against Alzheimer’s over the weekend. More than 200 bikers hit the road in support of families dealing with the devastating disease.
The event is one of San Diego’s biggest annual Alzheimer’s fundraisers according to CBS8. You can watch their full video report in the player above. The ride took the bikers on a hundred-mile ride for about 3 hours. The registrations alone raised hundreds of thousands before the ride even started.
Father and son, Richard and Rory Boyd were among the riders. “Our grandfather had Alzheimer’s and ended up passing away. He was so smart and ex-military and we hope that this event makes it so people are not afraid to talk about this disease,” said Rory Boyd told CBS 8.
The television station also got involved with their anchors emceeing the event. It’s really cool to see local television stations backing biker events. That is very rare. So kudos to CBS 8.
