VIDEO: 13 killed in Afghanistan, thousands of bikers escort a Missouri hero home
ST. LOUIS, MO. (BIKER DAD)– Thousands of bikers escort a Missouri hero home. He was one of the 13 a suicide bomber killed in Afghanistan. Erin Berghold sent video of the stunning tribute to the Biker Dad Facebook Page.
It shows a sea of bikers lined up near St. Louis’ Lambert airport. They are just a.part of the thousands of people who showed up in support of the 13, in particularly Marine Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz. He’s was a Wentzville, Missouri native. KSDK reports the procession Wednesday stretched across St. Louis. The station reports, “his remains arrived at St. Louis Lambert International Airport at about 12:30 p.m. and the procession got underway a little over an hour later.Schmitz’s remains were transferred into a military Humvee equipped with the U.S. Marine Corps flag, a U.S. flag and a clear back door allowing those honoring the military hero to see his casket.”

Patriot Guard Riders and police motorcycle officers led the procession to the funeral home. It stretched 12 miles. People lined the streets to pay their respects.
Services for the hero are this weekend.
