NEW ORLEANS, La. (BIKER DAD) — Motorcycles and Mardi Gras, New Orleans traffic cops are mounting up on a million dollars worth of new Harley-Davidsons.
The police department unveiled the new bikes last week saying on their Facebook page:
“Earlier today at a media event at NOPD’s Special Operations Division, NOPD Chief Shaun Ferguson and Mayor LaToya Cantrell unveiled 40 brand new Harley-Davidson police motorcycles leased by the department through funds secured by the mayor, along with a new hands-free communication system for use by the operators. These new motorcycles replace the department’s outgoing motorcycle fleet. This near $1 million investment provides NOPD Traffic Division officers top-of-the-line vehicles for use in the field.”
