The motorcycle community is mourning the loss of one of its own after a Forrest County Sheriff’s Office investigator succumbed to injuries she suffered in a motorcycle crash.
Investigator Andretta English passed away early Sunday morning despite what her department described as “courageous but unsuccessful efforts” by trauma surgeons and medical professionals to save her life following the Saturday crash. Authorities have not yet released additional details about the circumstances of the accident. (https://www.wbrc.com)
The Forrest County Sheriff’s Office announced her passing in an emotional statement on social media, saying it was shared “with profound sadness and heavy hearts.”
This is the second law enforcement officer injured in separate incidents recently:
English joined the Sheriff’s Office on February 26, 2024, beginning her career as a Patrol Deputy before earning a promotion to the Investigations Division earlier this year. According to the department, her dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving others quickly earned the respect of her fellow deputies.
The Sheriff’s Office described her as someone known for her “quiet strength, determined spirit, and compassionate heart,” adding that she approached every assignment with integrity and kindness.
Before becoming a law enforcement officer, English spent several years serving her community as a paramedic with AAA Ambulance Service. The Sheriff’s Office noted that the compassion and professionalism she displayed in emergency medicine carried over into her law enforcement career, where she continued making a difference in the lives of those she served.
The department also expressed its gratitude to the trauma surgeons, ICU nurses, physicians, and medical staff who fought to save her life, along with the many law enforcement agencies that stood beside her family and fellow deputies during the ordeal.
In closing, the Sheriff’s Office paid tribute to their fallen investigator:
“Rest easy, Investigator Andretta English. Thank you for your service, your compassion, and your sacrifice. Your watch has ended, but your legacy will remain with us forever.”
