LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO (BIKER DAD)– “This restaurant is under new management and will reserve the right to refuse service to white people,” a sign reads in the drive-thru of a Missouri Popeye’s restaurant. The backlash over the controversial sign actually forced the store to close this week. But, it turns out the store wasn’t behind the sign at all.
KMOV-TV reports that police checked surveillance cameras and found that it was a hoax. Someone planted the sign there as a prank. But that didn’t stop the real consequences for the restaurant.
