WISE COUNTY, Tex. (BIKER DAD)–A Manhunt for motorcycle rider accused of shooting a Texas cop continued Tuesday. Because of the shooting investigators in Wise County, that’s outside the DFW Metroplex, are now offering a $5 thousand reward. CBSDFW.com reports it happened Sunday night. Now the manhunt for 43-year-old Royce Edward Wood is full throttle.
The shooting
According to NBCDFW.com Wood and a woman were riding the motorcycle. The officer pulled them over because one of them fit the description of a home invasion suspect. That’s when police say Wood shot the officer. Then he took off running.
Video from the scene shows a black Harley Davidson touring bike surrounded by law enforcement. You can watch the full report in the video player above. Wise County Sheriff’s deputies issued the reward on social media but the post doesn’t say much about what happened. But the local news has uncovered more. Reports say a Rhome Police officer was shot in the leg. Investigators say the officer is in a Fort Worth Hospital. Police say he’s in stable condition. As for the woman, she’s in police custody. Wood is still on the loose however. He’s obviously armed and dangerous according to cops.

Here’s the description they gave of him. However he clearly could have changed his clothing by now,. Wise County Sheriff’s Office described Wood as 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. Wood is bald and has a full beard. He has green eyes. Last seen on foot wearing a baseball cap with a camouflage bandanna around it. Other clothing Wood wearing included black sunglasses, a vest, and a green shirt.
As a result of the shooting law enforcement have issued a “Blue Alert” for Wood.
