Thief steals a wheelchair ramp, it’s caught on camera
CHICAGO, Ill. (BIKER DAD)–A thief steals a wheelchair ramp. And it’s caught on camera. The theft might have you wondering who in the world would do such a thing. But what happened next will remind you there are more good people than bad out there.
“Why would somebody steal boxes of adult diapers off of somebody’s porch, and then I heard him taking the wheelchair ramp,” Jeanette LaRue told NBC Chicago. “I was like, oh my goodness, how low, how low can you be to take somebody’s wheelchair ramp?” Her mother relies on the ramp to get in and out of the house.

She told the TV station that she woke to the sounds of the thief. It was all caught on their baby monitor camera. “We’re like we’re never going to be able to replace this,” she said. “We’re struggling as we are and just trying to stay afloat.” She posted the video on Facebook. Hoping to catch the thief she instead caught the attention of people who wanted to help.
NBC Chicago reports a group called Freedom Rampz installed a temporary ramp with plans to get the family a permanent one too. “It restores my faith in humanity it does,” LaRue said. “There are good people out there.” The ramp will cost them nothing.
It’s another example of how when the worst happens some people show their best.
