STURGIS, S.D. (BIKER DAD) — A South Dakota Sheriff says law enforcement is on alert for “biker gangs” in Sturgis. He’s talking about 1%er clubs like the Pagans and the Hells Angels.
Meade County Sheriff Ron Merwin told KEVN TV that the clubs don’t normally come to Sturgis with plans to cause trouble. ”I think one thing kind of leads to another, and trouble finds them,” Merwin said. “But I don’t suspect that they come here openly looking for it. They just don’t back down from it either.”

This is the 81st rally at Sturgis. 81 is a special number for the Hells Angels. That’s because H is the 8th letter of the alphabet and A is the 1st. ”I would suspect that we’re going to have at least the normal number of Hells Angels around here,” Merwin told KEVN. “We might have a few more than normal. My suspicion is they might have some activities here because of the 81st.”
The 81st Sturgis rally officially runs from August 6th through the 15th. Here’s were you can find everything you need to know about the rally.
