The motorcyclist who allegedly shot at Olive Branch police during a traffic stop overnight has been captured in Missouri, multiple sources confirmed.

Police in Springfield, Missouri, told KY3 that the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Colby Alan Towles of Olive Branch, was captured Monday evening at a hotel in Springfield.

He now awaits extradition to Olive Branch.

His girlfriend, 33-year-old Sarah Skriver, was also arrested in Olive Branch as an accessory, according to DeSoto County District Attorney Matthew Barton.

Olive Branch police said the shooting happened around 1:43 a.m. at Highway 302 near the intersection of Craft-Goodman Frontage Road while conducting a traffic stop on a driver.

Officers said that as they were conducting the stop, Towles suddenly pulled up next to them in his motorcycle, began yelling at them, drove off, made a U-turn, and began shooting at the officers.

Springfield police told KY3 that Towles was arrested without incident on a warrant for two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer.

DA Barton says that assaulting a police officer carries a possibility of up to 30 years in prison for each count and attempted murder carries the possibility of life.

He also said Towles’ charges may change once he receives the details of the case.
