LADSON, S.C. (WCIV) — Law enforcement has arrested one woman in connection to a deadly double hit-and-run in Ladson Friday that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

Jeannie Polite, 43, was arrested by the South Carolina Highway Patrol over the weekend and charged with hit-and-run involving death.
Christopher Ashley, 37, of Ladson, died as a result of injuries sustained in a collision with a car while riding a motorcycle on Ladson Road near Oakmount Avenue at 8:45 p.m. Friday, May 10.
The coroner initially pronounced Ashley dead at the scene.

Troopers say a motorcycle was traveling east on Ladson Road when an unknown vehicle attempted to turn from Oakmount Avenue and struck the side of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was ejected into the westbound lane of Ladson Road and struck by another unknown vehicle.
A rear passenger of the motorcycle was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the SCHP.
