Police say a biker was rear-ended when slowing down for a construction accident in Butler Township Pennsylvania.

Township Police were called to Route 422 at the Lyndora interchange on July 31st for a vehicle rear-ending a motorcycle. The motorcycle driven by 38-year-old Edward Fink of Chicora was slowing down for a construction vehicle.

That’s when a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Joshua Savage of Butler rear ended Fink not seeing Fink slow down. According to official documents, video of the accident shows Fink’s break lights may have not been functioning.

Friends have started a GoFundMe account which says in part, “he was then pushed about 400 ft from where the car collided with him before being thrown off. He was then flown by medical helicopter to a nearby trauma hospital where he is undergoing surgery, one of many if I had to guess. He has some head trauma and a pretty nice size lacerations they used staples to close, he has some road rash, four broken ribs, his kidney got punctured and his back was shattered. The L1 and L2 are shattered and L3 and L4 are fractured. They are doing surgery in hopes to get the bone fragments from moving to his spinal cord. He will have a very long road to recovery. I know with this economy times are tough for a lot of people right now, but any and all proceeds that are donated will be used for medical bills and expenses for him to survive while he is unable to work.”
