The motorcycle racing community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 14-year-old amateur flat-track racer Alyssa Kruppenbacker, who died following an on-track incident during the AMA Flat Track Grand Championship in Du Quoin, Illinois.
Kruppenbacker, of Crescent City, Florida, was competing in the Mile program of the prestigious amateur national championship when the incident occurred.
Emergency responders were called to the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds shortly after midnight, and air medical assistance was requested. Despite those efforts, Alyssa later succumbed to her injuries. Officials have not released additional details about the crash.
The loss has sent shockwaves through the flat-track racing community, where Alyssa was known as a dedicated young racer with a bright future.

The American Motorcyclist Association is saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of AMA member and amateur flat-track racer Alyssa Kruppenbacker from Crescent City, Fla. She was 14 years old.
