Harley Homecoming smashes record, plans to make it an annual event
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (BIKER DAD) –According to local reports, more than 45-thousand people celebrated Harley Davidson’s 120th birthday with the Foo Fighters. But, I was there and it seemed like at least twice that many people showed up. Veterans Park in Milwaukee was sold out and the huge property was shoulder-to-shoulder as Dave Grohl and his band killed it. It was the largest crowd I’ve ever seen. And I’ve been to the Super Bowl, World Series, NBA championships and more.
Official count is that Over 80,000 motorcycle and music enthusiasts gathered for shows by Green Day and the Foo Fighters in Veterans Park throughout the weekend.
Another local report states; Across the four days, about 73,000 bikes also lined the Harley-Davidson Museum grounds and Sixth Street downtown. Another 130,000 attendees enjoyed food from food trucks, motorcycle displays and demo ride opportunities, stunt shows and more. And about 7-thousand motorcycles took part in the epic parade to cap off the celebration on Sunday.
The party went so well, Harley announced the homecoming will be an annual event. The 2024 party is already scheduled for July 25-28.
Another big deal, the unveiling of the 2024 CVO models at the dealership. It was definitely the first time I’ve seen the cutting-edge, if not controversial, models in person.
