Two motorcyclists were left injured after a hit-and-run crash in Odessa in late April, and the driver responsible is still on the run as investigators continue to search for answers.
Surveillance video from the scene shows the car turning left in front of the bikes then taking off after they hit the car.
According to the Odessa Police Department, the crash involved a vehicle striking two motorcycles before fleeing the scene without stopping to render aid. Both riders were left on the roadway in the aftermath of the impact, while the suspect driver disappeared from the scene.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and provided medical attention to the injured motorcyclists. While both survived, crashes involving motorcycles often carry a very different weight — there’s no protective shell, no buffer, just a rider and the road, and in this case, the force of a vehicle that didn’t stop.
Police say the decision to leave the scene turns a crash into something much more serious. A hit-and-run involving injuries is a felony offense in Texas, and investigators are still working to identify the driver responsible.
At this time, no arrests have been made. Detectives are asking for the public’s help, especially anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dashcam or surveillance footage from the area during the time of the incident. Tips can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
For the riding community, this one hits hard. Two bikes, two riders, and a driver who chose to leave instead of stop — it’s the kind of moment that reminds everyone why accountability on the road matters just as much as awareness.
