Nearly 60 years after Evel Knievel launched himself into motorcycle legend — and nearly into the afterlife — another daredevil is preparing to tempt fate over the iconic fountains at Caesars Palace.

Freestyle motocross star Colby Raha is set to attempt a world-record vertical motorcycle jump on May 17, soaring over the famous Caesars Palace fountains on the Las Vegas Strip. And yes… it’s the same spot where Evel Knievel’s horrifying 1967 crash became one of the most iconic moments in motorcycle history.
Raha, a 12-time X Games medalist, is aiming to beat his own world record by clearing more than 100 feet vertically on a motorcycle. If he pulls it off, it’ll be another chapter in the long tradition of bikers doing things that make normal people say, “There’s no way he survives that.”
For motorcycle fans, this stunt hits differently.
Evel Knievel’s failed Caesars Palace jump wasn’t just another stunt — it created the myth of Evel. The brutal crash left him with shattered bones, a crushed pelvis, and injuries that would’ve ended most people’s careers. Instead, it turned him into a worldwide legend.
Now Colby Raha wants to write his own name into that same history.
The jump is part of Caesars Palace’s 60th anniversary celebration and the grand opening weekend of OMNIA Dayclub & Skybar, a massive new entertainment venue on the Strip.
But for riders, this isn’t really about casinos or nightclubs.
It’s about the obsession bikers have always had with pushing limits. Higher. Faster. Further. Sometimes common sense gets left in the burnout smoke.
That’s why generations still remember Evel Knievel. That’s why crowds still gather to watch somebody twist the throttle toward a jump most sane people wouldn’t even attempt in a video game.
And honestly? Las Vegas may be the only place on earth crazy enough to host it.
The stunt is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 17. Whether Raha lands it clean or ends up recreating one of the most infamous crashes in motorcycle history, all eyes in the biker world will be on Caesars Palace.
